Fair, ethical, and delicious

A welcome addition to Medellin’s ever-growing health food and wellness scene, the newly-opened Justo Restaurante (literally, "Fair Restaurant" in Spanish) makes wholesome eating something we actually want to do.

Set in a dreamy spot nearby Medellin’s famed Parque Lleras, the open-air restaurant, organic health market and juice bar-in one offers vegetarians as well as the veggie-curious an attractive option for a date night out, a quick pick-me-up, or even some light grocery shopping.

A long-time vegetarian herself, founder Julia Correa designed a carefully thought-out seasonal menu with chef Salomón Borenstein of local organic food restaurant Osea, featuring colorful dishes filled with fresh, local ingredients that can be easily shared, and specials that are updated weekly. A favorite is the quinoa “forest” as well as the veggie risotto.

The restaurant and market’s open-plan layout, designed and overseen by local design and architecture studio Estudio Transversal in collaboration with landscaping firm Epífita, allows for a variety of airy environments, including booths, small tables, a prominent juice bar area, and a market area.

The meticulous design team made sure the interior was created with standards equally as responsible and ethical as the food, with home-grown or recycled timber used throughout the interior, prominent vertical gardens featuring plant lights and an internal irrigation system, and even a carved wood mosaic wall that affectionately displays the owners’ love of animals.
