For the second year in a row, the team at Diez Company has managed to put a spin on the traditional lighting experience in Mexico, combining architecture, design and hospitality in an expansive showroom-apartment in Mexico City. In partnership with local color authority Comex and WeWork, five apartments inside the iconic Alicia building in the Mexican capital’s Juarez neighborhood were transformed into lighting exhibitions, presenting pieces from some of the most important lighting brands in the world, each creating their own distinctive environments.

Taking place in parallel with Design Week Mexico, soon-to-be Mexico Design Month, the unique exhibit welcomed more than 2,500 visitors with the draw of seeing some of the top lighting brands in the world present their next generation lamps beside classic designs and avante-garde installations, and in a setting as representative as the Alicia building. Participating brands included: Astro, Bocci, Contardi, Parachilna, Decode, Bover, Faro, Matthew McCormick, Shelter Bay and Pablo Designs, with other firms as renowned as Tom Dixon and Tooy also joining the project.

Produced by Diez Company director Rodrigo Fernández and his team, Maison Diez Company also saw the launch of The LightReport2020, Diez Company’s specialized publication focused on international trends in decorative lighting. With a decade working in the design, distribution and implementation of luxury lighting, Diez Company has become a leader in the lighting sector, presenting projects that include collaborations with international designers, residential projects and the contract sector.
